Detailed Itinerary

  • DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN HA NOI
You will be welcomed at the Airport by a Vietnam Travel Centre representative and transferred to your hotel in Ha Noi. After checking into the hotel and some time to rest, you are invited to be taken on a Cyclo ride around the city centre to get an overview of the Old Quarter and French Quarter. Overnight in Hanoi.
  • DAY 2 - HA NOI CITY TOUR
This morning you start your city tour ofHa Noi by visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex where 'Uncle Ho', Ho Chi Minh read the manifesto in 1945 that declared Vietnam as an Independence, DemocraticRepublic after centuries of rule by China and France. The complex includes theMausoleum where Ho Chi Minh's body is interned, a rather quirky museum, UncleHo's last house of residence and a small pagoda set in pretty gardens. Thenext stop is the nearby Temple of Literature, the site of Vietnam´s firstUniversity. Here you will also have a chance to enjoy a traditional musicperformance. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant where you can taste theauthentic Ha Noi Pho (noodle soup). In the afternoon, take a drive to West Lake, the largest of the many lakes in thecity of Ha Noi to visit the oldest Pagoda in the city. The Pagoda is situated on the lake accessible by a walkway. Returning to the heart of Ha Noi, to thelovely Hoan Kiem Lake, visit the Temple where you can read the legend of the turtle that is said to live in the lake and who brings luck to anyone who seesit. Wefinish the day by visiting the traditional Water Puppet Show - a popular experience for all visitors to Vietnam.
  • DAY 3 - HA NOI - HA LONG BAY
Depart for Ha Long Bay. The four hour drive passes through Vietnamese countryside and lush rice paddy fields. Arriving at the port around noon, you will be met by the boat’s crew who will welcome you with a drink and offer you a cruise briefing. Embark on your cruise along the fascinating bay that features thousands of limestone karts and isles in various sizes and shapes. Savour a fresh, local seafood lunch while cruising on to Bai Tu Long Bay. Stop in between for a swim, visit the mysterious Thien Canh cave and relax on a secluded beach. You will also get the opportunity to kayak and explore the bay up close. Return to the boat to enjoy a relaxing sunset and more culinary delights that your chef prepares for you. Overnight on board. Note: Bay Tu Long is part of the same area. We are one of a few organisations who have a license to visit Bay Tu Long. It is less commercial, quieter and more beautiful than the nearby Ha Long Bay
  • DAY 4 - HA LONG BAY
Early risers can enjoy the sunrise and the quiet breath-taking beauty of Bay’s landscape. After breakfast go on a morning cruise to Ba Cua beach while passing through thousands of islands and islets. Relax at the beach and enjoy more kayaking, swimming or sunbathing. You will be served a BBQ lunch on the beach before cruising onwards to Cong Do. Return to your boat for another relaxing evening. Overnight on board.
  • DAY 5 - HA LONG BAY - HA NOI AIRPORT - DA NANG AIRPORT - HOI AN
This morning your cruise will take you to the Vong Vieng fishing village. This hundred year old village is set in the most tranquil settings and you will be awe inspired by the simple ways of the villagers. Meet the locals, visit a floating school and discover how oysters are farmed here. Cruise back to the Port after a late breakfast. On arrival at the airport you will be transferred to Ha Noi Airport for your flight to Da Nang and your short transfer by road to Hoi An. Hoi An was voted by Wanderlust readers as the favourite most city on earth, and not without reason. This historic city situated on the banks of the Thu Bon River is a fascinating mix of ancient town houses, bridges, food markets and lush paddy fields. Just on the edge of town are some lovely sandy beaches. It is also famous for its tailors who are adept at creating what you want from patterns or just photographs.Note: This is the place that is famous for getting great tailor-made clothes at reasonable prices.
  • DAY 6: HOI AN
The morning tour will take you on a walking tour of the town visiting old Tan Ky House, the famous Japanese Covered Bridge, and the stylish Phuc Kien Assembly Hall among other places. You can also enjoy a performance of traditional singing and dancing as part of the tour.In the afternoon, free to relax on the beach or at your hotel. Overnight in Hoi An
  • DAY 7 - HOI AN
You will be picked up after breakfast for a bicycle trip to the country side of the Hoi An town and visit the Tra Que Organic village, where you can visit the gardens managed by the local farmers. Learn about their traditional methods and farming techniques - no machines are used here. Later, you could join-in some of the garden work followed by a traditional feet-soaking session in Vietnamese herbs. You will return to your hotel or to Hoi An town for lunchtime. The rest of the day and evening is at your leisure to explore, relax at the hotel or the beach. Overnight in Hoi An.
  • DAY 8 - HOI AN

  • DAY 9 : HOI AN - HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON
After breakfast you will be transferred to Da Nang for an early morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival in the centre, you will check into your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in HCM City
  • DAY 10 - HCM CITY
First stop of the day are the Cu Chi war tunnels which are a network of underground tunnels formerly used by the Viet Cong during the American/Vietnam War. The tunnels were the location of several military campaigns during the war and besides being used as hiding spots, they were also used as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous North Vietnamese fighters and their families. Get an insight into what life was like for the guerrillas by crawling through 50 meters of the 200 km long tunnel. Later you will also have the opportunity to visit a rice paper workshop. In the afternoon, your first stop will be in the downtown area at the Binh Tay Market in Cho Lon with a stopover at Thien Hau, a 150 year old Chinese Temple. You will also have the opportunity to visit a Lacquer-wares workshop and the Jade Emperor Pagoda. Later in the afternoon, the tour will take you to the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the historic Central Post Office that was designed by Mr Eiffel, and stands as a testament to the French influence in this country. Overnight in HCM City.
  • DAY 11 - HCM CITY - PHU QUOC ISLAND
This morning take a morning flight from HCM City Airport to Phu Quoc Island. You will be received at the airport and transferred to your beach resort where you can spend the day at leisure. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
  • DAY 12 & DAY 13 : PHU QUOC ISLAND
Spend your days at leisure at the beach resort.
  • DAY 14 - PHU QUOC ISLAND - HCM CITY AIRPORT
Today your driver will arrive in good time to get your short flight from Phu Quoc Island to HCM International Airport to connect with your homebound flight.
