We contribute a part of our profits to impactful climate change adaptation and mitigation projects at the destinations we offer. What makes us unique is that you, the conscious traveler, is provided with the choice of which project you want us to support when you book a holiday with us.
Here's how your booking changes lives
The holidays we design use carefully chosen eco-friendly accommodation, practices, and include meaningful opportunities that benefit the local communities. However, this is not enough to counter the negative carbon footprint that comes from long haul flights. Instead of taking the easy route of buying carbon offsets, we actively support various climate change adaptation and mitigation projects at the destinations.
Every time you book a holiday, we contribute a part of the profits towards these sustainability projects. What’s more, you get to choose the project you would want us to support on your behalf and become tangibly associated with it. You are provided with ongoing updates about your project so you can monitor the impact you made.

One Traveller One Tree
OUR AFFORESTATION PROGRAM
We are working on bamboo afforestation programs at various destinations. According to climate change think tank Project Drawdown, bamboo forestation can lead to between 7.7 t0 19.6 gigatons of carbon sequestration. Unlike hardwood trees, bamboos grow faster and are proven to sequester more carbon.In India, Globe Travel Centre has undertaken to develop a bamboo forest cover over the next three years.
Under our 'One Traveller One Tree' campaign, we plant bamboo trees every time you travel with us. The number of trees we plant corresponds to the carbon footprint of your long-haul flight. Every tree that we plant on your behalf is geotagged so you can track its progress and share it with others.
CLIMATE EDUCATION FOR SCHOOLS
To combat the climate crisis and help the world adapt to its impact, it is critical that we provide climate & sustainability education at speed and scale. It is especially important to provide this foundational understanding to young learners around the world.
We work in collaboration with experiential climate education company Globe From Home, to provide K-12 schools with live-streamed, virtual climate education. (Download Globe From Home’s Planet School program. brochure here). When you book a holiday with us, you can choose to support this project.
BUILDING HEAT RESILIENT SCHOOLS
The Building Heat Resilient Schools project addresses the urgent issue of extreme heat that causes millions of children to be out of school -an issue that is worsening every single year with rising temperatures. By training youth who are not in employment, education or training, we equip them with valuable green skills to install solar panels that power fans and electricity in schools.
This project not only helps equip schools to become heat resilient, but also provides a pathway to employment for unemployed youth. You can choose to let your travel with us support this project which is delivered by experiential climate education company, Globe From Home.
Travelling with us benefits local communities
We are proud to say that we have set a precedent that not many companies can match. Not only is your holiday delivered by local guides and drivers and service providers (who find employment because of the business) but even your expertise comes from local experts.
Travel is about connecting people and by providing immersive experiences that connect our travellers with the locals at the destinations, we want to create meaningful travel experiences for both parties. On our tours you will get to experience 'real' destination experiences where you will have the opportunity to mix with the locals and make more meaningful connections. Our tours include a number of cultural extravaganzas and local art forms, which keep these traditions alive and provide local artists with an opportunity to showcase their skills to travellers.
Our drivers and guides are an integral part of our team and are specially trained to embrace our ethos of treating our clients as guests. Besides this they are provided with ongoing training so that they can grow.
All the merchandise that we provide our clients (travel bags, confirmation packs and others) is sourced from local people who are from an underprivileged background. By booking with us, you help provide employment and a means of livelihood to these people.
Fort Cochin Beach Cleaning
Back in 2010, distressed by the amount of waste that visitors were dumping in the Fort Cochin area in Cochin, Kerala (near the Chinese fishing nets), we decided to launch an initiative to clean and maintain the beach along this stretch.
We provided employment to a team of local people with whose help we succeeded in keeping the area clean and managed to improve the visitor experience to the Chinese Fishing nets and the nearby fish markets.
Our Recycling Initiatives
We realized that our brochures (which are 200+ pages each) use a lot of trees. We have therefore made a conscious decision to produce limited quantities of printed brochures using 100% recycled paper. Where possible, we are now distributing ebrochures.
We use recycled paper at our offices and adopt processes that minimize waste. The merchandise provided to clients is made up of 100% recycled material. This includes bags with travel documentation and luggage labels which are made up of recycled tyre tubes, confirmation packs made up of jute, and others.
