Detailed Itinerary

  • DAY 01: ARRIVAL COLOMBO. (40 KM / 1 HR)
Welcomed by Sri Lanka Travel Centre representative at the Bandaranaike International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Relax and unwind at the hotel. In the evening, enjoy a couple’s aromatherapy massage and a complimentary bottle of champagne. Overnight at the Regency hotel. (Vehicle for transfer)
  • DAY 02: COLOMBO – GIRITALE (220 KM / 5 HR
Leave the hotel after breakfast and proceed to Giritale in the famed cultural triangle which holds many exciting cultural delights in store for you. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery that will unfold as you journey into the cultural triangle. Check into the Deer Park Hotel on arrival and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
  • DAY 03: GIRITALE
Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the morning. The Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an awe inspiring palace- cum- fortress sitting atop a 200 m rock outcrop was built in the 5th century by a tyrant king fleeing exile. The fortress, now rated as the eighth wonder of the world, is a jaw-dropping architectural marvel.The stiff but exciting climb to the top is one of the Island’s most memorable experiences taking you from the moat, ramparts and water gardens that ring the base up narrow steps and past 5th century paintings of heavenly maidens on the rock face. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. You can enjoy a rejuvenating “Angsana” massage at the hotel’s Angsana Spa. Overnight at the Deer Park Hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
  • DAY 04: GIRITALE
Proceed to Polonnaruwa, where you will see the remains of this medieval capital located by the side of the magnanimous man-made lake “Parakrama Samudraya” built by the king Parakrmabahu–I (1153-1186 AD).The remains here include some very memorable creations including the superbly carved Vadatage, perhaps the most beautiful building in Sri Lanka and the majestic statues at Gal Vihara including the famous 5 mt long reclining Buddha. A visit to the Pollanuruwa museum is also a must. On your way back to the hotel, visit Minneriya National Park, famous for its large herds of elephants gathering around the tanks in the afternoons. You will travel in to the park by Jeep, accompanied by a tracker. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
  • DAY 05: GIRITALE – KANDY
Travel to Kandy. Enroute you could visit the exquisite cave temples in Dambulla, filled with hundreds of exquisitely carved and painted statues including huge reclining Buddhas, delicately painted deities and an array of murals on the walls. You could also visit a spice garden in Matale, where many varieties of spices such as cinnamon, pepper and nutmeg are grown. Continue to Kandy and check into the Earls Regency Hotel for your overnight stay. (Vehicle for transfer and sightseeing)
  • DAY 06: KANDY
Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya today. Established in the early 1800s, the Gardens are spread across close to 150 acres along Mahaweli River and offer a vast collection of over 300 species of orchids, medicinal plants, spices, palm trees and numerous other trees. Return to Kandy and take a tour of the city and visit the temple of the sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. Enjoy a cultural show featuring Sri Lanka’s traditional dance performances. Overnight at the Earl's Regency Hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
  • DAY 07: KANDY – BENTOTA
After the breakfast check out from the hotel and travel to Bentota. Check into the Taru Villas Resort. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the resort. (Vehicle for transfer)
  • DAYS 08 & 09: BENTOTA
Enjoy two blissful days at the Resort. The pristine beach is just a short walk away through the lush green gardens. A rail track runs along the edge of the garden giving the settings an added charm. Laze on the clean white sand beaches, swim in the turquoise waters or just enjoy the luxury of the resort. You could visit a turtle hatchery near the resort where concerned locals have established protected areas of beach on which visiting turtles can lay eggs and where baby turtles can be safely returned to the water. Enjoy a romantic candle lit dinner on your last day.
  • DAY 10: BENTOTA – DEPARTURE (105 KM / 2.5 HR
Departure transfer to the airport for your return flight. (Vehicle for transfer)
