Detailed Itinerary

  • DAY 01: Arrival Calicut
Welcomed by a Globe Travel Centre representative at the Calicut International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Calicut, the historic capital of North Kerala, is a prominent hub for spice trade along the west coast. After checking into your hotel, take some time to relax and unwind. In the evening, visit the Hindustan Kalari Sangam, a renowned traditional martial arts center, to witness Kalaripayattu, the ancient martial art of Kerala. Overnight at The Raviz Kadavu resort.
  • DAY 02: Calicut - Wayanad (95 km / 3.5 hrs)
Drive to Sultan Bathery in Wayanad. Set in the picturesque Western Ghats and mountains at an altitude of about 2,000 meters above sea level, Sultan Bathery is littered with tropical rainforests, dense hills, rolling paddy fields, spice plantations and valleys. Wayanad is a hitherto undiscovered location offering breathtaking views. Overnight at the Tranquil Resort.
  • DAY 03: Wayanad
Spend the day at your leisure, or immerse yourself in nature with an exploration of the sprawling 400-acre coffee plantation surrounding the resort. Choose from 10 walking routes, each ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours, offering unique experiences and stories. Whether it is taking in breathtaking panoramic views of Wayanad, spotting rare and beautiful birds, or simply soaking in the serene beauty of the surroundings, this experience promises to leave a lasting impression and deepen your appreciation for nature’s wonders.   • DAY 04: Wayand - Tellicherry (115 km / 4 hrs)
Drive to Thalassery, or Tellicherry as the British christened it during their rule of India, a vibrant fishing town in the north of Calicut which is famous for the three C's- circus, cricket and cakes. It is known for being the first British settlement in Kerala and, needless to say, cakes and cricket were both introduced by the British. Check in to The Heritage 1866 and unwind in its charming ambiance. In the evening, experience the captivating ancient ritual of Theyyam at a nearby temple. (Please note: Theyyam is a seasonal ritual and may not be performed every day.) Overnight at The Heritage 1866.
  • DAY 06: Tellicherry
Today, you can visit the bustling fish markets of Tellicherry, also visit the ancient fort built by the British. You will also have the chance to drive to the fascinating Muzhipillangad Beach, Kerala’s only drive–in beach. You can drive along miles of virgin, white sands or laze on the beach and be mesmerized by the beauty of the place. Overnight at The Heritage 1866.
  • DAY 06: Tellicherry - Cochin (By train)
Today you will be transferred to Tellicherry Railway Station to board an express train to Ernakulam. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at the station and take you to your hotel in Fort Cochin. A port town since early centuries, Cochin, also known as the spice coast of India, attracted traders and invaders from the world over. Needless to say, Cochin offers you some fascinating snippets of history and culture. Overnight at the Fragrant Nature.
  • DAY 07: Cochin
This morning go for a sightseeing tour to explore the many fascinating highlights of Cochin; including, the Jewish Synagogue; St. Francis Church, the oldest European Church in India; the Santa Cruz Basilica, which was built in 1557 by the Portuguese; the Dutch Palace; the Spice Market; and the 15th century Chinese fishing nets believed to have been brought by Chinese traders. In the evening, go on a sunset cruise to catch a glimpse of the city's skyline at dusk and watch it transform into a million lights as the sun sets. Overnight at the Fragrant Nature.
  • DAY 08: Cochin - Muvattupuzha (50 Km / 1.5 HRS)
Drive to Muvattupuzha, the area is known for its scenic landscapes and the agrarian community. The Muvattupuzha Rives flows through the town and the town is surrounded by lush greenery and hills, offering picturesque landscapes and natural beauty. The area is known for crops such as pineapple, rubber, and spices. Overnight at the Indian Summer House.
  • DAY 09: Muvattupuzha
Spend your morning at leisure and prepare for a delightful afternoon. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic canoe crossing of the Muvattapuzha River, followed by a short walk through lush rubber and tapioca fields to our favorite local Tea House. This charming tea house, run by Mohanan, along with his wife and family, has been a beloved local spot for years, known for its unique vintage charm. At the tea house, savor freshly brewed tea and indulge in delicious local snacks, including Pazham Pori (banana fritters), Tapioca Chips, and Parrippu Vada (a local favorite). Relax under the ripening banana plants, chatting with locals and traveling salesmen, who often share intriguing stories and insights about this enchanting place. Overnight at the Indian Summer House.
  • Day 10: Muvattupuzha - Cochin - Departure (34 Km/ 1 HRS)
In good time you will be transferred to Cochin airport to board your onward flight

When Should I go?

Being a coastal state surrounded by the Arabian Sea and because of its proximity to the equator, Kerala has a more or less consistent temperature pattern in the summers and the monsoons alike. The temperature hovers around 29°C throughout the year with varying levels of humidity.

June and July are monsoon months in Kerala, the showers being heavy at first and then easing off gradually. Whilst these are not the best months for tours, interestingly, this happens to the best time for travellers seeking the therapeutic Ayurveda treatment which is said to be most effective in these months.

Best months for travel to Kerala

The months of October through to March are considered to be the most favourable months to travel to Kerala when the weather is sunny and pleasant. The months of April and May are also favourable for travel but the humidity tends to be comparatively higher. August and September are also good months for travel.
