Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival Delhi
Upon arrival at Delhi airport, you will be greeted by a Globe Travel Centre representative and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and unwind at your leisure. Overnight stay at the Claridges.
  • Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast, embark on a full-day tour of Old and New Delhi. Visit the iconic Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, followed by an exhilarating rickshaw ride through the vibrant lanes of Old Delhi, including the bustling wedding street with its colorful saree shops, bangles, and jewelry. Next, visit the serene Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, where you will learn about Sikhism and witness the community kitchen serving thousands daily. Drive past the President’s House and key government buildings in Lutyen’s Delhi before stopping at Rajghat, Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial.   • Day 03: Delhi - Mandawa (268 kms/6 hrs)
Drive to Mandawa, known as the open-air art gallery of Rajasthan, renowned for its stunning frescoes. This region is celebrated for its intricate and high-quality wall paintings that adorn many of its buildings. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to unwind. You have the rest of the day at leisure to relax and explore at your own pace. Overnight stay at the Vivaana Culture Hotel.
  • Day 04: Mandawa - Jaipur (167 Km/ 4 hrs)
After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of the beautifully painted 'havelis' belonging to some of the leading business families in the country. Highlights include the Chowkhani Haveli, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli, Lakshminarayan Ladia Haveli, Mohanlal Saraf Haveli, and Bhagchandika Haveli. Later drive to Jaipur, also known as the "Pink City," is the capital of Rajasthan and one of India's most vibrant and historic cities. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II, Jaipur is renowned for its stunning architecture, including palaces, forts, and temples, many of which are built in a distinctive pink sandstone. The city is famous for its rich culture, vibrant bazaars, and royal heritage. Overnight stay at the Alsisar Haveli.
  • Day 05: Jaipur
This morning proceed for an excursion to the Amber Fort, located on the outskirts of Jaipur. Following this, enjoy an extensive sightseeing tour of the city, including visits to the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and the renowned Hawa Mahal. You will also have the opportunity to visit either a rug factory, where you can observe the delicate craftsmanship of the artisans, or a gem factory, to experience the intricate process of gem cutting and polishing. Overnight stay at the Alsisar Haveli.
  • Day 06: Jaipur - Agra (260 Km/ 5.5 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Jaipur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route—the 16th-century capital of the Mughal rulers, built entirely of sandstone. The city was the result of the vision of the great emperor Akbar, who aimed to build a capital city that the world would remember, but it was later abandoned due to water scarcity. Continue your drive to Agra. Upon arrival check-in to your hotel. Agra was the seat of the Imperial Mughal court during the 16th and 17th centuries before the capital was shifted to Delhi. The city located on the banks of the Yamuna and along the Grand Trunk Road flourished under the patronage of the Mughal emperors. Globally known as the city of the Taj Mahal, this royal Mughal city has, in addition to the legendary Taj, many other monuments that epitomize the high point of Mughal architecture. Overnight stay at the Trident Agra.
  • Day 07: Agra
Start the day with a sunrise visit to the iconic Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a timeless symbol of love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. This architectural masterpiece, adorned with intricate designs and semi-precious stones, took 22 years and 20,000 workers to complete. There are few words that can describe the magnificence of this monument. Marvel as the lights and colours transform this stunning monument in the beautiful morning glow.   • Day 08: Agra - Jhansi - Orchha - (By train and by car)
This morning, you will be transferred to the railway station to board your train to Jhansi. Upon arrival in Jhansi, proceed by road to Orchha and check in at your hotel. Later, enjoy a guided tour of this historic destination, renowned for its impressive temples and monuments. The palaces here are adorned with exquisite painted murals, representing the pinnacle of the Bundela school of painting. Overnight stay at the Orchha Palace. (Approximate travel time: 4.5 Hrs.)
  • Day 09: Orchha - Khajuraho (170 Km/ 4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Khajuraho, home to temples built by the Chandela Rajputs in the 10th century. These temples, which lay forgotten for centuries, were rediscovered in the modern era. Khajuraho is renowned for the sensual beauty of its intricate erotic sculptures. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the Jass Radisson.
  • Day 10: Khajuraho
After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of the Western and Eastern temples of Khajuraho.   • Day 11: Khajuraho - Varanasi (By flight)
In good time, you will be transferred to the airport to board a short flight to Varanasi, often regarded as India’s holiest city, located on the western banks of the sacred Ganges River. Known for its spiritual significance, the city is dotted with hundreds of temples, making it a major center of devotion and worship. A boat ride at sunrise along the riverfront offers a truly uplifting and serene experience. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to witness the mesmerizing "Aarti" ceremony on the Ghats. Overnight stay at the Taj Ganges.
  • Day 12: Varanasi
This morning embark on a boat cruise along the Ganges River, where you can witness the daily rituals and spiritual practices of the pilgrims at the Ghats. This serene journey offers a unique insight into the sacred life along the river, with the sights and sounds of devotion unfolding around you. After the boat ride, proceed on an excursion to Sarnath, one of the most important Buddhist sites in India. Sarnath is where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment, and it remains a key pilgrimage destination for Buddhists worldwide.   • Day 13: Varanasi - Delhi (By flight)
Enjoy a relaxing morning at leisure. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to a hotel near the airport. Overnight stay at the Novotel Aerocity.
  • Day 14 - Delhi - Departure
You will be transferred to the airport for your return flight.

When Should I go?

The months of September through to March are considered to be favourable months to travel to India. September has the added advantage of being in the “good weather” bracket but also technically falls in the off season in most places, so prices are cheaper for travel in September. The months of October through to February are pleasant in most parts of the country, though you will find the temperatures varying between chilly in the North and warmer in the southern parts of the country.

India’s weather is varied and different parts of the country may get monsoons at different times. May and June are hot months across the country except for the hill stations in the North.

The country gets monsoons in the months of June and July though along the south western coast, there are monsoons in the period between October to December too.

June and July are monsoon months in Kerala, the showers being heavy at first and then easing off gradually. Whilst these are not the best months for tours, interestingly, this happens to the best time for travellers seeking the therapeutic Ayurveda treatment which is said to be most effective in these months.
